Will a real estate agent trick you?

You might be surprised to find out that many real estate agents pay money to a "real estate sales coach" who teaches them to use prewritten "scripts" to handle any question or objection you have. The goal is to quickly, effectively and strategically snuff out ANY objection you have and get you to do what they want you to do. In other words, manipulate and trick YOU!

If you think you won't fall for these sales tactics, think again. I see people fall for these tricks all the time. Why? Because the agents are so ultra smooth you won't know what hit you. They've practiced their scripted answers 100's of times and as a result, they WILL come off sounding natural.

Tips to catching these "scripted" real estate agents so you don't hire them!
  1. These agents usually do a very high volume of business. Get 'em in...get 'em out...its all a numbers game for these agents. You really don't want to be just a "number" do you?

  2. These agents usually claim to be #1 this and #1 that. They'll often say we have all the buyers or we sell the most homes. Selling the "most" doesn't mean you are the best and it definitely does NOT mean that as a consumer, you are going to get the best service if you fall for those lines.

  3. They will tell you anything you want to hear just to get you to sign. In fact they will appear to be very agreeable...until AFTER you sign!
Agents who use prewritten scripts will often start their sentences off with...
  1. "I understand how you feel..."
  2. "I can understand why..."
  3. "I can appreciate that"
  4. "I understand your concern"
They'll probably end their sentences with...
  1. "Does that make sense?
  2. "Can I explain?"
  3. "Right?" (that's a good one...they are trying to get you to agree. My answer would be "no, not right")
All while shaking their head up and down to get you in the "yes" mode. They are tricking you into thinking that they understand, trying to make you think that they care (when they don't care about you at all) and then bam! They will roll out the scripted answer that has been proven to snuff out your specific objection every time.

Just say "NO" to these scripted agents and do not fall for the age old sales tricks they use. The last thing you need when selling a home is a real estate agent that is going to hand you a bunch of prerehearsed, canned lines that are designed to manipulate you!
